Child Care Grants

Application Deadline:  January 15, 2010, 5:00 p.m. EST
Small grants of up to $400 are available to assist meeting attendees who are bringing small children or who incur extra expenses in leaving them at home (i.e., extra daycare or babysitting services).

• Apply before January 15, 2010, 5:00 p.m. EST.

Applications must be received by January 15, 2010 to be considered by a subcommittee of the Committee on the Status of Women in Physics (CSWP). In the event that the number of requests for grants exceeds the funding available, preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers.

Child Care Bulletin Board

American Physical Society (APS) provides a Child Care Bulletin Board as a means to communicate for those seeking to share babysitting at the March Meeting. APS offers this bulletin board as a service and takes no responsibility for any consequences resulting from child care arrangements made through this bulletin board. People posting on the bulletin board are not endorsed, screened or validated by APS. Please exercise appropriate caution in dealing with unfamiliar individuals.

Parents/Children Quiet Room

APS will designate a small room in the convention center for parents who bring infants and young children to the meeting. The purpose of the room is to provide a place for parents to come for quiet time and relaxation with their small children. The room will be furnished with comfortable furniture and water, but there will be no supervised childcare and no toys provided.
